BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 26: As part of the ongoing nationwide Sewa Parv 2025, district Budgam today witnessed a vibrant series of community-oriented activities, organised across different zones, schools, municipal bodies and panchayats.
The programmes reflected the collective spirit of service, social responsibility and public participation, bringing together students, citizens, and officials under one banner of seva.
Key Activities held included book distribution & donation drives. At MS Tangnar, Zone Nagam, a book distribution camp was organised to encourage reading habits and support underprivileged students. Similar book donation drive was held at BHSS Ichigam, mobilising students and teachers to contribute books for a noble cause.
Special cleanliness drives were carried out at Panchayat offices of Block S.K. Pora, ensuring neat and hygienic public spaces. Community participation was witnessed in the cleanliness of canals and streams across Budgam, aimed at improving water quality and environmental hygiene.
A separate cleanliness drive was also conducted at HSS Khag, where students actively engaged in Shramdaan to maintain the campus and surroundings.
At Higher Secondary School Narbal (Block Narbal), a health awareness programme for adolescent girls was organised, covering personal hygiene, nutrition, and wellbeing.
In addition, a rally was taken out by the Municipal Committee Budgam in Ompora, raising awareness among citizens on cleanliness and community responsibility.
Essay and painting competitions were held at HSS Hayatpora, Zone Nagam, where students showcased their creativity on themes of service, environment, and social responsibility. At PM Shri HSS Kandoora, Beerwah, a painting competition was also organised, with enthusiastic student participation.
Health check-ups for Safai Mitras and women workers were conducted under the Sashakt Nari Sashakt Bharat initiative, ensuring their wellbeing and recognising their service.
Under the theme Waste to Wealth, innovative activities were held across panchayats of Block S.K. Pora, highlighting recycling, waste management, and sustainable living practices.
A plantation programme under Ek Paad Maa Ke Naam was undertaken in Chadoora by the Municipal Committee Budgam, symbolising commitment towards environmental protection.
An eco-awareness programme was also organised by Soil Range Budgam (Pir Panjal Forest Division) at GHSS Soibugh, sensitising students on conservation and biodiversity.
A massive Shramdaan programme ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ was held across various halqas of block Narbal, mobilising people for voluntary work in their localities.
District administration Budgam has reiterated its commitment to carry forward the objectives of Sewa Parv 2025 by ensuring mass participation, spreading awareness, and encouraging service as a shared responsibility.
