Srinagar, Jan 13: Srinagar’s once-forgotten “Wall of Kindness” has come back to life; with fresh clothes now seen hanging on the wall after a recent report by the news agency highlighted its neglected state.

The wall, once hailed as a beacon of compassion during its early launch in 2018, till two years, and now had faded into anonymity, but the story reignited community interest and brought the initiative back into focus.

According to the details with the news agency, the Wall of Kindness, located along the Bund in Lal Chowk, was introduced to help the needy, especially during harsh winters. However, over time, it lost its charm, becoming nothing more than a forgotten backdrop.

But after the KNO report brought attention to its faded state, locals have again started contributing again.

“It is beautiful to see clothes hanging on the wall, it shows us the wall has again gained momentum and stayed in the minds of people,” said Zahid Ahmed, a local resident.

Another resident Riyaz said, the wall holds emotional value for many in the city. “It was a symbol of kindness when it first started. Seeing it revived makes me happy,” he added
