SHOPIAN, MARCH 12: Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Shopian in collaboration with the Health Department today organized a Free Health Camp and Hygiene Kit Distribution Drive at Government Higher Secondary School Keller, Shopian under the flagship initiative Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP).
The programme was aimed at promoting health awareness, hygiene practices, and overall well-being among adolescent girls and women.
During the camp, medical professionals from the Health Department conducted comprehensive health check-ups, provided medical consultations and sensitized students about menstrual hygiene, nutrition and preventive healthcare.
On the occasion, hygiene kits were distributed among the girl students to encourage safe and healthy hygiene practices. The initiative was warmly received by the students and school staff, who appreciated the efforts of the Sankalp Hub and the Health Department in addressing the health needs of young girls.
Officials from Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women Shopian highlighted that such awareness and outreach activities are an integral part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, focusing on the health, education, dignity, and empowerment of the girl child.
They emphasized that the Sankalp Hub will continue to conduct similar awareness and support programmes across the district to ensure that women and girls have better access to health services, information and essential facilities.
The programme witnessed active participation from students, teachers, health officials and representatives from the Social Welfare Department, making the event both informative and impactful.
