KULGAM, AUGUST 01: Swachhata Pakhwada ‘The Shuchita Sangram’ kick started at Kulgam with the main event held at the Mini-Secretariat, Kulgam.
The programme was launched by the District Development Council Chairperson Mohammad Afzal Parrey and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan in presence of DDC members and other officers of District Administration.
On the occasion, a pledge-taking ceremony was held in which participants pledged to keep surroundings clean.
To raise public awareness, the “Swachhata Rath” was flagged off by the District Development Council Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam.
Adding to the significance of the event, a plantation drive was also conducted in collaboration with the Forest Department under the slogan “Ek ped Shaheed ke naam, Ek ped maa ke naam”.
In line with the scheduled activities, pledge-taking ceremonies were also held across all Government Offices, Educational Institutions, and Panchayat Ghars at the Block and Panchayat levels.
