RAMBAN, JULY 09: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Ramban, Rahul Gupta, the Department of Social Welfare orchestrated a comprehensive awareness program at Panchayat Chanderkote.

The initiative centered on menstrual hygiene and elucidated the women and child-oriented provisions of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The objective of organising the program was to educate women and children on the critical importance of menstrual hygiene and the legal protections afforded to them under the proposed Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita respectively.

The event garnered an enthusiastic response from the local community, underscoring a burgeoning awareness and willingness to engage in discussions on these pivotal issues.

Paramedical Sakhi, OSC Ramban Arti, imparted crucial information on maintaining menstrual hygiene, dispelling myths surrounding menstruation, and advocating for healthy practices.

Further, the program featured detailed deliberations on the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita’s provisions that protect the rights and welfare of women and children, highlighting the legislation’s relevance in the current socio-legal landscape.

DSWO emphasized the department’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the well-being of women and children across the district. He underscored the significance of such awareness programs in empowering the community with essential knowledge and resources.

The program culminated in an interactive session, allowing participants to pose questions and share experiences, thereby fostering a comprehensive understanding of the topics discussed.
