JAMMU, FEBRUARY 01: The Department of Social Welfare, Jammu & Kashmir, has successfully restarted the Elderline Helpline (14567) across the Union Territory.

The helpline will now be available daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, providing essential support and assistance to senior citizens. A dedicated team of trained counselors will offer emotional support, legal guidance, and information on welfare schemes, ensuring that elderly individuals receive the care and assistance they need.

Director, Social Welfare Department Jammu Rupesh Kumar, stated “The re-launch of Elderline 14567 reaffirms our commitment to the well-being of senior citizens in Jammu & Kashmir. Many elderly individuals face loneliness, legal struggles, and difficulty in accessing welfare schemes. This helpline will serve as a crucial support system, offering them the necessary guidance and assistance.”

A senior citizen who recently sought help from the helpline shared,
“Old age often brings uncertainty and challenges. Having a dedicated service like Elderline 14567 assures us that we are not alone and that help is just a phone call away.”

The Social Welfare Department urges all elderly individuals and their families to utilize this free and confidential service, ensuring a dignified and secure life for senior citizens across Jammu & Kashmir.
