RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a key meeting to finalize the roadmap for setting up telemedicine facilities at Dhar Sakri, Badhaal and Bagla Kotli in coordination with Government Medical College Rajouri.
During the meeting, the CMO briefed that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the proposed telemedicine centers would be prepared in consultation with GMC Rajouri. The concerned GMC official was asked to identify suitable rooms to be used as dedicated spaces where doctors will provide tele-consultations.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need to explore telediagnostic services to expand the scope of healthcare delivery. He also instructed the integration of Common Service Centres (CSCs) with ASHA workers to facilitate and manage telemedicine services at the village level. It was further decided to set up a committee to finalize the operational framework for these facilities.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to leveraging technology for public welfare, the DC said that telemedicine will close healthcare gaps in remote areas. He underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination and timely execution so that people in every corner of the district can access quality medical services.
The initiative is expected to ease the pressure on tertiary care hospitals while ensuring timely consultations and better healthcare access for people living in far-off areas.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri, Chander Prakash; Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), Devi Dayal; CPO, Maqsood Ahmed; CMO, Dr. Manohar Rana; Deputy Superintendent GMC & AH, Dr. Javed, besides other concerned officers.
