DODA, FEBRUARY 17: Thathri Police organised an awareness program on the New Criminal Laws at Panchayat Ghar Jangalwar Tehsil Phagsoo. The event was held under the supervision of SHO Police Station Thathri Suresh Kumar, and the guidance of SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta. The program aimed to educate the public about significant reforms introduced under the New Criminal Law.

The session saw the participation of approximately 30 to 40 people, including senior citizens, shopkeepers, and local residents. The participants were briefed on important provisions of the New Criminal Law, such as faster investigation and trial procedures, enhanced protection of victims’ rights, stringent penalties for crimes against women and children, and digital recording of witness statements for transparency. Officers emphasized how these reforms aim to ensure swift justice, reduce crime rates, and build trust between the community and law enforcement agencies.

As part of the district-wide initiative, similar awareness programs on the New Criminal Law were conducted at various locations across Doda district, highlighting the importance of legal literacy and public cooperation in ensuring law and order.
