UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 08: A one-day training-cum-awareness session on Narcotics Control was conducted today by the Narcotics Control Bureau here in collaboration with District Administration Udhampur.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh presided over the training-cum-awareness session.
At the outset, Superintendent NCB Jammu Kapil Sharma delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation covering various aspects of the NDPS Act, investigation techniques, capacity building and inter-departmental coordination, enforcement intelligence and operations, demand and harm reduction, control of precursors and synthetic drugs and rehabilitation strategies for persons affected by drug addiction.
Addressing the participants, the ADC stressed the importance of effective inter-departmental coordination in combating the drug menace. He directed the concerned departments to intensify awareness activities regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and ensure effective preventive measures across the district.
He emphasized the need to educate people, particularly the younger generation, about the dangers of addiction and to work collectively towards creating a drug-free environment in the district.
The training session witnessed active participation from officers and officials of various departments, reflecting a coordinated and mission-oriented approach towards preventing drug abuse and strengthening narcotics control measures in the district.
The session was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Umesh Shan, besides senior officers and officials from various departments.
