DODA, JULY 15: A comprehensive day-long training programme for Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) was conducted at Town Hall Doda, the other Day. The event was organized by the District Administration under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO) Harvinder Singh.
The primary objective of the training was to familiarize the participants with constitutional provisions related to elections, their role and responsibilities as key field-level functionaries and detailed procedures for the preparation and updating of the Draft Electoral Roll. The session emphasized the importance of accuracy, inclusiveness and accountability in maintaining voter lists and addressing claims and objections in a time-bound and transparent manner.
The participants were guided on verifying voter details, removing duplicate or ineligible entries and ensuring that no eligible voter is left out. The resource persons also highlighted the ethical responsibilities of Supervisors and BLOs in assisting citizens, safeguarding sensitive information and preventing malpractices. Discussions included practical challenges faced during field verification, the use of technology in electoral roll management and the significance of public awareness campaigns to enhance voter participation.
