SRINAGAR, MAY 8: Secretary Transport, Neeraj Kumar, today visited the Central Workshop JKRTC at Sempora, Pampore, to explore the possibility for establishment of high tech Driving Training Centres and Automated Testing Stations in Kashmir.
Transport Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara and Managing Director JKRTC, Rakesh Kumar Srangal accompanied the Secretary.
Neeraj Kumar emphasized and explained the need of establishing technologically equipped Driving Training Centres and Automated Testing Stations for improving road safety and prevent loss of human lives in road accidents. The setting up of technologically advanced institutions would not only help to bring added efficiency in the work culture but will ensure enhanced and accurate services to the public.
During on the spot inspection, the Secretary asked JKRTC to formulate a concrete proposal for establishment of integrated project for RTDC/ICC/ATS in consultation with the Transport Commissioner so that the transporters and general public of Kashmir could get the facility of Automated Driving Training and Certification Centre.
He asked the MD JKRTC to initiate the process in the matter so that further steps could be taken in order to facilitate the general public in a shortest possible time.
Additional Transport Commissioner, Ajaz Abdullah Saraf, Additional Secretary, Transport Department, Rajeshwar Singh Charak, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari besides other officers were present on the occasion.
