Srinagar: Srinagar police on Monday arrested two hybrid millitants of LeT outfit along with arms and ammunition in Chanpora area of Srinagar.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), during a Cordon and Search Operation in Chanpora area, Srinagar Police arrested 2 hybrid militants of proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF namely Aamir Mushtaq Ganai @Mussa S/o Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai

and Ajlan Altaf Bhat S/o Mohd Altaf Bhat-both residents of Chanpora.

The statement reads that incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds & 1 silencer recovered.

“A Case under FIR no 31/2022 has been registered in Chanpura Police station under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Arms Act and IPC.”

It added that it came out in initial examination that these weapons were sent by Pakistan based handlers of LeT/TRF and they were to be used for targeting killing of civilians and Security personnel in Srinagar city.

“The arrested duo was to distribute these pistols to other millitants in Srinagar. Further Investigation of the case is in full swing to unearth whole conspiracy,” it said.
