UDHAMPUR, MAY 12: District Administration Udhampur today organised an awareness-cum-training programme for District and Sectoral Officers regarding Census 2027 and the upcoming Self-Enumeration process here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex, Udhampur.
The programme, held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, was attended by District Census Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; PO Poshan Subash Dogra, Additional SP Sandeep Bhat, GM DIC Kishore Singh Katoch, DFO Udhampur, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, DSEO Darshan Kumar and other district officers.
At the outset, the DIO NIC delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation on Census 2027 and briefed the participants about the online self-enumeration process. He informed that the self-enumeration phase will be conducted from May 17 to May 31, 2026, during which citizens will be able to submit their household details online through the official Census Self-Enumeration portal.
He stated that the initiative has been introduced to make the Census process more convenient, transparent and citizen-friendly.
While addressing the gathering, the ADC explained that the online self-enumeration facility would enable residents to independently and securely provide household information from their homes. He emphasized that self-declaration by citizens forms the backbone of authentic Census records and urged residents to furnish all required information truthfully and carefully in the prescribed 33 questions of Phase-I Houselisting and Housing Census, covering household composition, socio-economic details and other notified Census parameters.
The ADC further said that the successful conduct of Census 2027 depends on collective awareness and active public participation, and urged all residents to make full use of the online self-enumeration facility.
