Undeterred by rain, thousands flock to MA Stadium for PM Modi’s rally in Jammu

Srinagar, Sep 28 : Braving relentless rain, thousands of enthusiastic supporters gathered early at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu today, eagerly awaiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival.

The rally, seen as a key event in the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming final phase of elections on October 1, has attracted a diverse crowd of elderly people, women, and youth, all energized to hear PM Modi address the gathering.

News agency KINS reported that in a remarkable display of enthusiasm, female supporters were seen dancing and singing songs in praise of PM Modi.

One supporter, sharing her excitement, said, “We have come to listen to Modi ji. We want BJP candidates to win not only in Jammu but even in Kashmir. We have a lot of hope with the BJP—they have done good work in the last 10 years, and we are hopeful they will continue.”

Among the crowd was a Kashmiri Pandit woman, Ansari, who voiced a deeply personal appeal to the Prime Minister. “We appeal to Modi ji to take us back to our original homes in Kashmir. Only he can make it happen,” she said, echoing the sentiments of many displaced families.

The event is being held amid heightened security, with the stadium and surrounding areas sealed off. Security forces have taken control of the venue to ensure safety during the VVIP visit, as several top BJP leaders are also in attendance.

“There’s a lot of excitement among the public, and we believe this rally will show our strength in Jammu,” a BJP worker commented as per KINS, reflecting the party’s confidence ahead of the crucial third phase of polling.

With over 12 lakh eligible voters in Jammu district, the BJP is banking on the rally to galvanize its base and secure key constituencies, including Jammu East, Nagrota, Bishnah, and R.S. Pura. The stakes are high as the party aims to retain its stronghold and extend its influence across both Jammu and Kashmir divisions
