UTRC reviews bail eligibility for under trial prisoners in Kathua

KATHUA, OCTOBER 16: A meeting of the Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) was held here today at the Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre, District Court Complex, Kathua.

meeting was chaired by Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua) Jatinder Singh Jamwal.

Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (Sub-Judge) Kamiya Singh Andotra, Additional District Magistrate Ranjeet Singh, SSP (Operations) Kathua and acting SSP Kathua, Nasir Khan, and Jail Superintendent Kaushal Kumar, Senior Prosecuting Officer Sandeep Chambyal and Deputy Legal Aid Defence Counsel Puneet Kumari were also present.

The committee identified Under Trial Prisoners (UTPs) lodged in District Jail Kathua who were eligible for bail recommendations, based on the guidelines established by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) under the “Standard Operating Procedure for Under-Trial Review Committees” and relevant legal provisions.
