PULWAMA, MARCH 23: District Administration Pulwama today organized an inaugural function at the Martyrs’ Memorial of 185 Battalion CRPF Camp, Lethpora, on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, marking the commencement of the special phase of celebrations commemorating 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram”.
The event commenced with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a soulful rendition of “Vande Mataram” and a pledge-taking ceremony, reflecting a collective commitment towards the values of unity, integrity, and nation-building.
On the occasion, officials and attendees offered floral tributes and heartfelt homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The programme was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora, Commandant CRPF 185 Battalion, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers of Police, CRPF, civil administration, and members of the public.
Furthermore, as part of the commemorative activities, mass singing of “Vande Mataram” was held across educational institutions, sub-divisional headquarters, tehsil headquarters, BDO offices, and panchayat halqas across the district.
Following the successful culmination of the first two phases of the celebrations, the District Administration has chalked out a comprehensive schedule for the special phase, comprising a series of activities to be organized across the district. These initiatives aim to honors the sacrifices of the Bravehearts of India’s freedom struggle and highlight the rich historical legacy associated with the National Song.
