SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 11: After taking charge of Vice Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, convened a comprehensive review meeting with officers of the Authority today.

During the meeting, he took stock of the functioning of all operational wings, including enforcement, lake cleaning and maintenance, planning and monitoring, public outreach, and regulatory oversight.

He called for strengthening inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely execution of lake conservation initiatives.

The Vice Chairman stressed the need for adopting proactive measures for the preservation and restoration of Dal-Nagin and other allied waterbodies. He further directed officers to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances related to encroachments, pollution, and illegal activities affecting lake ecosystems.

He directed the Enforcement Officer to demolish any construction that takes place within 200 mtrs and stressed for regulation of constructions beyond restricted zone.

Vice Chairman reaffirmed LCMA’s commitment to safeguarding the region’s natural heritage and instructed officials to maintain high standards of transparency, accountability, and field-level responsiveness in all operations.
