Vigilance Awareness Week District admin, Departments, Educational Institutions pledge to promote Culture of Integrity

JAMMU, OCTOBER 28: The Government organisations, educational institutions and individual departments across Jammu province on Monday hosted integrity pledge ceremonies to mark the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week.

Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 28th of October to 3rd of November 2024 with the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity” underscoring the importance of vigilance against corruption for driving national progress.

AT POONCH: Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 was launched in District Poonch with a pledge-taking ceremony with key stakeholders affirming commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability.
An ‘Integrity Pledge’ was administered to the officers by Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal and attended by all officers of the district administration Poonch.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that integrity serves as a foundation for sustainable prosperity and urged everyone to act as role models, setting high ethical standards in all their personal official responsibilities and directed all departments to organize special programs throughout the week.

AT DODA: In observance of Vigilance Week, a pledge ceremony was organized at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office Complex.

Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, SSP Mohammad Aslam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sudershan Kumar, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pran Singh, along with district officers and officials of the DC office, participated.

The pledge ceremony, led by the Deputy Commissioner, emphasized the importance of honesty, accountability, and proactive measures against corruption within government operations. He called for holding Gram sabhas in every Panchayat to educate the public about menace of corruption. He stressed on prompt resolution of public grievances.

AT SAMBA: In observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, the District Administration Samba, led by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma and SSP Vinay Kumar took the Integrity Pledge reaffirming their unwavering commitment to uphold transparency, integrity and accountability in the governance.

Deputy Commissioner Sharma, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the critical role of vigilance in fostering a transparent administrative ecosystem and encouraged all present to embody the values of honesty and accountability in their professional conduct.

AT Udhampur: The District Administration Udhampur hosted a pledge-taking ceremony at the District Headquarter under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai to mark the commencement of vigilance awareness week.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Amod Ashok Nagpure; Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Umesh Shan; Chief Planning Officer, Mohd Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal and other officers of line departments were present.

The DC administered the pledge to the officers and officials to uphold principles of integrity, transparency, accountability and fairness in their work.

AT RAMBAN: Intensifying activities under Vigilance Awareness Week, the District Administration Ramban, led by Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, organized a pledge taking cum awareness events across the district, emphasizing the importance of integrity and transparency in public service.

Key departments, including Health, Education, PWD, PMGSY and the Municipal Council Banihal under the guidance of District Vigilance Officer, ADC Ramban, Varunjeet Singh Charak, actively participated by administering the vigilance pledge to their staff and students in their respective instructions. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting a unified commitment to upholding honesty in Ramban’s public services.

During the events, participants were sensitized to the significance of Vigilance Awareness Week as a part of the Central Vigilance Commission’s “Participative Vigilance” initiatives in the fight against corruption. This awareness-building outreach aims to bring together all stakeholders, underscoring the need for collective efforts in fostering an ethical environment.

AT RAJOURI: As part of Vigilance Awareness Week, a solemn pledge ceremony was organised today at the District Collectorate Office in Rajouri. Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma administered the oath to all officers and staff, emphasizing the importance of upholding honesty, integrity and transparency in public service.

During the event, the DC called upon all government officials and staff to renew their commitment to ethical work practices and a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption. Highlighting the critical role of integrity in government administration, he urged everyone to be vigilant in their responsibilities, ensuring that each action is aligned with the principles of fairness and accountability.

The ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajouri, Rajiv Khajuria, along with heads of various departments and district officers. In unison, they pledged to perform their duties with honesty, maintain transparency in decision-making processes, and remain accountable to the public.
Similar events were conducted across all government offices, educational institutions, and other public establishments across the district. This initiative aims to instill a sense of duty among the officials and create widespread awareness regarding the need for vigilance in day-to-day activities.

GDC KASTIGARH: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh organized a significant pledge ceremony centered on the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.” The event was held under the guidance of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, the Principal of the college, who emphasized the importance of integrity in shaping a prosperous nation.

GDC Vijaypur: Department of Commerce and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 by participating in the online integrity pledge administered by Chief Minister J&K Omar Abdullah on the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.” Principal of the College along with all the faculty members, NSS volunteers and other college students participated in the pledge taking ceremony.

A poster making competition was also organized on the occasion to spread awareness among the students.
Special Crime Wing-CB, Jammu: To curb the menace of corruption, a pledge ceremony was observed on the occasion of “Vigilance Awareness Week” in Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Jammu, on the direction of SSP, Special Crime Wing Jammu Sandeep Mehta.

The main pledge ceremony was held at Zonal Crime Headquarters, Special Crime Wing Jammu wherein SSP, SCW CB Jammu administered the oath to officers/officials to work together to eradicate corruption and oppose all forms of corruption.

Further, the Officers and Officials of Special Crime Wing Jammu took oath to work with zeal in maintaining highest standards of integrity, transparency and good governance and not to offer or accept bribes and maintain a culture of honesty.

Directorate Sheep Husbandry Jammu: On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, a pledge taking ceremony was organized by the Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu. All the officers/officials participated in the pledge taking ceremony, reaffirming to uphold the highest standard of honesty, integrity, transparency in public service delivery.
