SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 9: A week-long Advanced Management Development Program (AMDP) focused on ‘Global Value Chain Integration for Promotion of Circular Economy and Export’ concluded at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir.

The initiative aimed at strengthening regional value chains and building capacity for micro, small, and medium business units to compete in global markets.

The specialized MSME training was organised by SKUAST-K’s Institute of Business & Policy Research (IBPR), SKUAST-K, in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME.

The program served as a strategic knowledge platform to identify unique selling propositions (USPs) for local products, helping participants navigate the complexities of international trade, market intelligence, and EXIM requirements.

Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai emphasised that SKUAST-K is committed to creating an enabling environment for agricultural exports to lead the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. He urged participants to focus on outcome-driven trade activities and praised IBPR for addressing anomalies in current market arrangements while maintaining global quality standards.

Prof HR Naik, Director Planning & Monitoring, highlighted the importance of a vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem. Prof SH Baba, Program Coordinator, flagged critical issues like price distortions and the need for communicating brand values to capitalize on J&K’s inherent agricultural advantages.

The week-long deliberations featured experts from across India covering digital technologies, blockchain for traceability, scientific packaging, and SPS safety measures.

The participants also visited the Lassipora Industrial Estate to gain first-hand industry experience.
Representatives from NABARD, APEDA, and J&K Bank further detailed various schemes available for export promotion and circular economy ventures.
