KULGAM, DECEMBER 04: In observance of World Disability Day, an awareness cum interaction programme was organized by the District Social Welfare office (DSWO) Kulgam at the Rest House Chawalgam.
Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulgam, M Y Tarigami was the chief guest on the occasion, accompanied by DDC Member Qoimoh, M Abbas Rather.
The MLA interacted with the attendees to understand their concerns and directed line departments to take appropriate steps to address the grievances of specially-abled persons.
Representatives from various departments including Social Welfare, DIC Kulgam, DE&CC Kulgam, DLSA, and Health Department provided information regarding initiatives aimed at supporting persons with disabilities.
The event attracted individuals with disabilities from across the district with significant participation from NGOs and associations committed to the cause of specially-abled persons.
The event concluded with complimentary medical check-ups and free distribution of medicines.
