GANDERBAL, AUGUST 03: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) District Ganderbal held a series of inter-school zonal level sports competitions across the district today under the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada campaign.
In Zone Kangan, an inter-school zonal level Volleyball competition for boys under 19 years took place at the Zonal Office Ground in Kijpara Kangan. Sixty-seven student players from the zone participated. The final match featured BHSS Manigam and BHSS Chattergul, with BHSS Manigam winning the match 2-1 in sets.
In Zone Hariganiwan, an inter-school zonal level Kho-Kho competition for boys under 19 years was held at the BHSS Hariganiwan Ground. Many enthusiastic students participated, and BHSS Kullan emerged victorious over BHSS Hariganiwan by one inning. Senior officials of the zone awarded trophies to both teams during the presentation ceremony.
Simultaneously, Zone Ganderbal organized several events, including a Cleanliness Drive, painting competition, football competition, plog run, and quiz competitions in various educational institutions throughout the district.
Nearly 900 students actively participated in these events, conducted under the banner of Swachhata Pakhwada – Suchita Sangram 2024.
