Bandipora, October 09: The valedictory of the 06-day training programme entitled ‘Certification and Marketing of Organic Produce’ under Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP) Project -16 “Alternate System of Agriculture” Monday concluded at Dak Bungalow Dawar Gurez.
The valedictory programme was presided over by SDM Gurez Mukhtar Ahmad. DDC member Gurez, Ex-Joint Director Extension Department of Agriculture, Head PARC (Policy Advocacy research Center) UT J&K Ruchita Rane, Head of the KVK Dr Bilal Ahmad Bhat and other officers were present on the occasion.
It was given out that 15 lectures were delivered during the course of 06 days by different subject matter experts of the university.
During the one-day exposure visit to a herbal garden, the participants were informed bout the aromatic and medicinal plants available in this area and how better it can be an opportunity to use it as an enterprise in the future.
Moreover, the participants were exposed to a live demonstration on protected vegetable cultivation and a fruit nursery could be managed, maintained and utilized as a source of income in the far off valley.
Dr Pandit said that these twenty trainees from five villages are the ambassadors to promote organic farming on scientific lines in this region.
