DODA, OCTOBER 29: A two-day Mega Job Fair under Mission YUVA commenced today at the Government Degree College Ground, Doda. The event has been organized by the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) in collaboration with the District Administration Doda.
The fair aims to connect local youth with potential employers, offering around 700 job opportunities across diverse sectors. Nearly 11 reputed companies, including the Dubai-based Century Bank Broking, from the banking, insurance, health and service industries participated, conducting on-the-spot interviews and recruitment drives for job seekers.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from unemployed youth, government departments, private sector representatives and other stakeholders, making it a vibrant platform for employment generation and career guidance. Additionally, career counseling sessions were held to sensitize students and job aspirants about self-employment and skill development opportunities available under Mission YUVA.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh appreciated the joint efforts of the Employment Department, Century Bank Broking and other participating organizations.
He stated that the Mega Job Fair showcases the administration’s commitment to empowering the youth of Doda by facilitating direct interaction between employers and job seekers. “Such initiatives not only enable our young talent to secure meaningful employment but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the district.
We urge all participants to make the most of this opportunity and explore various avenues under Mission YUVA and other government programs,” he said.
The Job Fair will continue tomorrow with more interviews, counseling sessions and awareness programs, furthering the mission to bridge the gap between employers and aspiring candidates across the district.
