UDHAMPUR, APRIL 10: The three-day Divisional-level awareness Programme concluded today with the District Administration Udhampur, in collaboration with School Education Department, organizing a padyatra to promote Nasha Mukt Udhampur Abhiyan, with the message ‘Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.’

The padyatra was flagged off from Domail Chowk by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Joint Director School Education Udhampur–Reasi Dr. Jagdish Chander Mehra and Chief Education Officer Subash Gupta.

Briefing the media, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a series of activities were conducted across the district during the three-day programme to sensitize students and other stakeholders on essential issues such as road safety, environmental protection, mental health, drug de-addiction and career guidance. He emphasized the need to promote responsible behaviour and strengthen grassroots outreach.

The DC stated that the main objective of organizing the padyatra was to educate people about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse. He reiterated that awareness and education are the most powerful tools in the fight against drug abuse.

A large number of staff members, students and other stakeholders participated enthusiastically in the rally.
The padyatra passed through Dhar Road, Barrian, Slathia Chowk, Court Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Gole market and culminated at Government Boys Higher Secondary School.
