RAMBAN, JULY 26: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired the second meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under the ambitious Mission YUVA initiative. The meeting was convened to evaluate applications and extend financial support to youth for establishing viable business units, thereby boosting self-employment in the district.
The agenda of the meeting centered on reviewing block-wise applications received under Mission YUVA, scrutinizing them for eligibility, and charting a clear roadmap to empower local youth with sustainable livelihood options. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban (Nodal Officer Mission YUVA), Varunjeet Singh Charak along with senior officials from various departments.
During the session, the committee reviewed 204 applications verified by the Small Business Development Unit (SBDU) Ramban.
After a detailed evaluation of eligibility norms, project feasibility and the socio-economic background of the applicants, the Committee approved all 204 cases for financial assistance and mentorship support under the Mission.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the transformative role of Mission YUVA, saying, “This initiative is a ray of hope for our youth. By providing them with access to credit facilities and handholding support, the Government aims to nurture entrepreneurship and reduce dependency on government jobs. The district administration is committed to reaching every eligible youth and the goal is to create a strong culture of self-reliance.”
He further directed the District Nodal Officer, JKEDI, and the General Manager DIC to fast-track the preparation and verification of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) so that pending applications can be processed without delays.
Additional Deputy Commissioner also underscored the importance of Mission YUVA, stating, “The enthusiasm among the youth to avail benefits of this scheme is encouraging. We will intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots level to ensure that more young individuals, especially those from remote areas, come forward with innovative business ideas and benefit from this initiative.”
Among others present at the meeting were the General Manager DIC, Assistant Director Employment & Career Counselling Officer, DECC, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI, Lead Bank Manager, ARTO Ramban and DWSO Ramban.
