BARAMULLA, JULY 26: Department of Handicrafts Saturday organized a one-day awareness camp at Dak Bunglow Chijhama, under Handicrafts Block Rafiabad.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of artisans and weavers of Rafiabad, alongside officials and representatives from various line departments, banks, and RSETI.

The camp was chaired by ADC Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina; Assistant Director Handicrafts Baramulla, CDI Faculty, Handloom Training Officer Baramulla, and Assistant Handicrafts Training Officers of district Baramulla.

It aimed to spread awareness about various departmental initiatives and welfare schemes to uplift the artisan and weaver community. Participants received detailed information on financial incentives, training programs, and government support available for their growth and welfare.

Kashmir Handicrafts, especially from Baramulla, are known for their exquisite craftsmanship and unique designs. The region is famous for hand-knotted carpets, intricate woodwork, and handloom products that reflect the rich heritage of Baramulla’s artisan community.

Such awareness camps play a vital role in promoting these crafts and ensuring that artisans receive the support and recognition.
