UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 01: Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Udhampur Lal Chand reviewed the status of payment of compensation to owners of structures coming under the alignment of the pending 200 meter stretch of the Garhi-Gatyal road at Jib.
At a meeting, the Chairman had a threadbare discussion with the Assistant Commissioner Revenue on the issue. The Chairman was informed that 50% of the compensation amount, totaling Rs. 18, 32,930 out of 91, 53,900 has been disbursed to 9 structure owners. The remaining amount will be disbursed once the dismantling process commences.
The Chairman urged structure owners to cooperate and initiate dismantling on their own, ensuring timely project execution.
The Chairman directed authorities to commence the widening and upgradation of the road as tendering for the same has already been completed. On the completion of the widening and upgradation of the pending 200 meter stretch, the Garhi- Ghatyal road will ensure better transport facility to the Jib-Thathi area and further links to the Katra town.
The DDC Chairman’s proactive approach aims to expedite project completion, benefiting local communities with better infrastructure in the region and enhanced transportation facility in the region.
