JAMMU, AUGUST 07: The Department of Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing (DEERS), Government of J&K, under the EIACP Hub, organised a MissionLiFE Awareness Campaign and Plantation Drive at SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Jammu.

Students, teachers and EIACP staff participated by planting nearly 100 saplings of various forest tree species within the school premises. The drive aimed to promote environmental responsibility and green practices.

The programme began with a welcome address by School Principal Shakun Choudhary. Students actively took part in digging, planting and watering saplings. A skit highlighting the importance of trees was also presented.

Dr. Rajan Singh, SFS and Programme Coordinator of the EIACP J&K Hub, appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to adopt sustainable lifestyles. He briefed participants on the Government of India’s Mission LiFE initiative promoting eco-friendly behaviour.

The drive served as a practical learning experience, reinforcing the significance of trees in combating climate change and conserving biodiversity.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty and DEERS officials.
