BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 25: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations leading up to Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd of October, a series of impactful activities were today conducted across various institutions and blocks of district Budgam, with enthusiastic participation of students, community members, and officials.
At HSS Budgam , Chadoora Budgam, the day witnessed multiple programmes under the banner of Sewa Parv. Students actively participated in cleanliness drives, awareness sessions, and cultural activities aimed at spreading Gandhian values of sustainable living, community service, and collective responsibility.
Similarly in Block S.K. Pora, Block Development office organised Shram Daan, cultural performances including Band Paether and Ladishah, alongside a special programme on menstrual hygiene awareness.
MLA Beerwah, Dr. Shafi Wani presided over as the chief guest. He participated in Shram Daan and encouraged people to adopt waste segregation, sustainable lifestyle practices, and responsible waste disposal methods. MLA also felicitated students for their innovative waste-to-wealth projects, lauding their creativity and contribution towards environmental protection.
At BHSS Ichigam, students were empowered with first aid training as part of life-skill development under Sewa Parv. The training helped students gain knowledge about emergency response and preparedness, enabling them to become responsible citizens equipped to save lives in times of need.
Sewa Parv is being observed as a 17 day long initiative across the district, aimed at fostering a bottom-up approach towards sustainable living, community service, and personal responsibility, values deeply advocated by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
District administration Budgam has reiterated its commitment to ensure maximum public participation in the upcoming days of Sewa Parv, thereby turning this campaign into a people’s movement for cleanliness, awareness, and sustainable development.
