KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 25: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 and Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, Muncipal Council Kupwara organized the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ drive.
The drive was flagged-off jointly by MLA Kupwara, Mir Mohammad Fayaz and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse from Town hall Kupwara to Main Market Kupwara. The event marked a collective pledge towards building a clean, green, and healthy Kupwara.
As part of the launch, waste collection hoppers were also flagged-off, equipping the campaign with essential resources for effective sanitation work.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Fayaz commended the district administration for organising the event under Swachhata Hi Sewa. He stressed that the messages heard during the campaign must be applied in day-to-day life. Cleanliness, he said, should be the foremost priority of every citizen, as it ensures healthier living conditions and reflects the discipline of society.
Earlier before the flag-off, DC highlighted the importance of sanitation and civic responsibility in daily life. He stressed the need to keep the city clean and green, underlining that cleanliness is not just a civic duty but a foundation of public health.
He also informed that health camps are being organised under Sewa Parv and urged residents, particularly in far-flung areas, to avail these facilities.
The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various schools in district Kupwara. Their thoughtful words reinforced the significance of collective responsibility in protecting natural resources and ensuring a healthier future.
Executive Officer, MC Kupwara reiterated the commitment of the Municipal Council to sustain cleanliness initiatives in Kupwara and called upon the community to extend their wholehearted support in the days ahead.
