Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2025 inaugurated at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 2025: The Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2025 was today inaugurated at Government NM Higher Secondary School Kaloosa, Bandipora by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawal.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Deputy Education Officer Bandipora, Principal Government NM Higher Secondary School Kaloosa, Member Bandipora Advisory Board, besides Padma Shri Awardee and Brand Ambassador of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Faisal Ali Dar.

The championship is being organized under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and My Youth My Pride initiatives by the district Bandipora Tennis Ball Cricket Association, affiliated with the J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association. A total of 16 teams from across the district, representing schools and clubs in sub-junior, junior, and senior categories, are participating in the tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC highlighted the importance of sports in channelizing the energy of youth towards constructive activities. He said cricket, being one of the most popular sports in the country, offers wide opportunities for talent and growth.

He further underlined that tennis ball cricket provides a dynamic and time-efficient platform for youth to engage meaningfully in sports, while promoting discipline and teamwork.
