DODA, SEPTEMBER 30: A series of community-oriented programmes, focusing on environmental protection, public health, inclusive governance and traditional wellness practices were held across Doda District on the 13th day of Sewa Parv 2025. The events were coordinated by multiple departments and institutions witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, government employees, healthcare professionals and local residents.
At the institutional level, Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh organized a debate on Inclusive Governance.
Students delivered thought-provoking speeches, underlining the importance of citizen-centric administration, digital empowerment, gender equality and youth participation in democracy.
The Health Department Doda organized health screening camps under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Campaign at GHSS Chinta, Village Katyara and other locations. Services included antenatal check-ups, NCD and TB screening, Hb testing, vaccinations, free diagnostic tests and distribution of free medicines. Health education sessions on menstrual hygiene, personal care and handwashing practices were also organized. The activities were supervised by CMO Dr. Om Kumar and coordinated by Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah Dr. Versha Sharma.
The Ayush Department organized multiple activities under Sewa Parv, Poshan Mah and Swachta Pakhwada celebration.
Highlights included yoga awareness sessions, Poshan Mah camps, medical camps for women, cleanliness drives, diet awareness sessions, school health programmes and plantation drives. A total of 22 Ayush institutions actively participated, spreading awareness about holistic health and wellness.
Plantation and awareness drives were carried out at different locations. The JK Pollution Control Committee, in collaboration with the Health Department organized plantation drives at the CMO Office premises and Government ANMT School, where participants also took the Mission Life Pledge to reinforce environmental responsibility.
The Range Office Marmat, Batote Forest Division, conducted plantation drives at Ward No. 06 (Rural) and Loga Behota (Ward No. 02). School children, government employees, PRI representatives and local residents planted saplings to promote greenery and sustainable living.
