RAMBAN, OCTOBER 16: In a strict action, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ramban Kuldeep Singh has suspended the Registration Certificates (RCs) of three vehicles involved in bovine smuggling.

The action was initiated on detailed recommendations from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, confirming repeated violations and registration of FIRs against the said vehicles.

The RCs of vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19A- 3199 (Truck), JK19A-2708 (Dumper), and JK19A- 1270 (Bolero Pickup) have been suspended for a period of four months and the Police Department has been asked to seize the vehicles.

The ARTO Ramban stated that the step has been taken to ensure strict enforcement of the Motor Vehicles Act and to curb unlawful activities that pose a threat to public order.

Meanwhile, the ARTO Ramban also issued show cause notices to the owners of vehicle no JK19A 1432 (Bolero Pickup) and several other vehicles allegedly involved in bovine smuggling for suspension or cancellation of their Registration Certificates (RCs) and permits.

The Police and Transport Departments reiterated the zero-tolerance policy against illegal activities and appealed to vehicle owners to strictly comply with statutory regulations to avoid such punitive measures.
