DODA, DECEMBER 23: District Development Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to take a comprehensive review of physical and financial progress achieved under District Capex Budget 2025–26.

The meeting, held in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex, focused on department wise progress, with emphasis on performance, transparency and public benefit.

At the outset, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Manesh Kumar Manhas presented a detailed Powerpoint Presentation highlighting department-wise physical and financial indicators, fund utilisation status and progress of ongoing works. Departments including RDD, Health, Education, PWD (R&B), Irrigation, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Youth Services & Sports, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry presented updates on their respective allocations, achievements, and constraints.

The DC directed the departments to ensure proper assessment, monitoring and optimal utilisation of funds to enhance service delivery and developmental impact.

Reviewing division-wise performance of PWD under the Capex Budget, the DDC inquired about the status of tenders floated and pending as on 22-12-2025, procurement stages and completion timelines set for each project. Emphasis was laid on prioritising reconstruction of flood-damaged public assets, including safety walls, footbridges, road maintenance works, and renovation of school buildings, to ensure public safety.

The DDC also reviewed the physical and financial status of JPDCL Doda and Kishtwar divisions, directing officials to improve coordination for timely completion of power-related works.

Issuing clear directions, the DC instructed departments to keep allotments within approved allocations, avoid cost overruns and submit all pending bills before the end of December to ensure smooth financial closure. He further stressed strict adherence to timelines, quality standards, e-procurement norms and regular field inspections. The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, ACD, SEs and XENs of PHE, PWD and Irrigation besides district officers and other concerned officials.
