JAMMU, DIRECTOR 24: Director Horticulture Jammu, Gul Sayed today visited Akhnoor and Khour areas of Jammu district to review horticultural activities and progressive plantations in the region.
During the visit to Akhnoor, the Director Horticulture was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer, R. K. Kotwal; Horticulture Development Officer (HDO) Akhnoor, Sandeep Sharma and other staff. The team inspected a Dragon Fruit orchard, where the Director interacted with the growers and assessed the progress of the plantation. He appreciated the farmers for opting for high-value fruit crops.
In Khour, the Director inspected Dragon Fruit orchards and Strawberry plantations. He inquired about the cultivation practices, crop health and adoption of modern horticultural techniques by local farmers.
Later, the Director visited the Government Fruit Plant Nursery-Phallalya, where he reviewed the status of infrastructure, availability of quality planting material and ongoing developmental works.
