BANDIPORA, MARCH 12: Food Safety Department Bandipora carried out market checking drives across various areas of the district to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

During the inspections, several Food Business Operators (FBOs) were checked for adherence to hygiene and quality norms under the Food Safety and Standards regulations. Violations were noticed in some establishments, following which a total fine of Rs 11,500 was imposed on the erring FBOs.

The inspection teams also sensitized shopkeepers and food business operators about maintaining proper hygiene, displaying valid licenses, and ensuring the sale of safe and quality food items to consumers.

The Food Safety Department reiterated that such market checking drives will continue in the district to safeguard public health and ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations.
