ANANTNAG, MARCH 25: Continuing the review of key infrastructure projects and urban amenities of the district, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat today conducted an extensive tour of Uranhall.
The DC was accompanied by ADC, SE & Exen, PWD(R&B), Tehsildar Anantnag, Secretary MCA and other concerned officers and officials.
The DC visited the Slaughter House at Uranhall being constructed by Municipal Council Anantnag through R&B Department. The officers informed that about 80 percent of the civil work has been completed and mechanical work will be initiated very soon.
The DC instructed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on the project and ensure the same is completed as per the approved design. He further asked them to construct the abbatoir on modernistic/scientific lines and include necessary engineering works in the project.
Subsequently, Dr. Bilal inspected the 62 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Uranhall and reviewed its functioning. The engineers and staff from UED briefed him about the operational mechanisms and current discharge levels of the plant.
Expressing satisfaction on functioning of the STP, the DC directed the concerned engineers to ensure the plant is operated in compliance with the relevant SoPs and other regulatory standards.
Lastly, the DC visited the identifed site for Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre at Uranhall and directed the SE, PWD to expedite preparation of the DPR so that it is taken up and completed at the earliest.
