SAMBA, APRIL 4: A meeting of the District Level Committee was convened today to deliberate upon modalities for operationalization and distribution of Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO) in the district in light of Government Order No. 20-FCS&CA of 2026. Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan chaired the meeting.

At the outset, Assistant Director FCS&CA Rahul Gupta briefed the chair regarding the current status, proposed framework and key areas requiring intervention for effective implementation.

The meeting was attended by ARTO, representatives of Oil Marketing Companies (IOCL, BPCL and HPCL) and all Tehsil Supply Officers. Key aspects including identification of eligible beneficiaries (AAY households), mode of distribution, transportation logistics and framework for retail pricing were discussed. Emphasis was laid on evolving a transparent, efficient and accountable distribution mechanism, particularly for remote and vulnerable areas.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned to furnish field-based inputs and actionable suggestions for early finalization of modalities and stressed close coordination with OMCs to ensure adequate availability of SKO.
Reiterating a zero-tolerance stance, the Deputy Commissioner stated that any instance of diversion, hoarding or black marketing shall invite strict action under law.

The Tehsil Supply Officer, Samba shall act as the Nodal Officer for coordination and submission of inputs.
All stakeholders were directed to ensure timely submission of data and extend full cooperation for expeditious finalization of the framework.
