Srinagar: Lieutenant General D P Pandey General Commanding Officer Chinar corps on Tuesday visited district hospital Shopian to thank doctors for treating the injured soldiers who were injured in a road accident a few days ago.

“I just came here to thank locals and doctors for saving the lives of soldiers as locals evacuated them to hospital and doctors treated them. It is easier to take life than to save life,” he said while thanking locals and doctors for working together with 44 RR and saving precious lives, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

To a query, he said, “you don’t need to take tension about security arrangements as arrangements are being made to ensure hassle free yatra season this year.”

According to him, militancy related activities are on decline in Shopian and said people of the south Kashmir district along with police and Army are working to wipe out militancy.

Three soldiers were killed while five others sustained injuries after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Kanipora area of Shopian—(KNO)
