DLSA Udhampur discusses modalities for smooth conduct of Special Lok Adalat

UDHAMPUR, MAY 15: In compliance with the directions of the Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, Sub-Judge/Secretary District Legal Services Authority Udhampur Sumati Sharma today convened a meeting regarding the forthcoming Special Lok Adalat for cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

The meeting was attended by Chief Judicial Magistrate Rekha Kapoor Nischal; Sub-Judge/Special Mobile Magistrate Pooja Raina; Munsiff JMIC Neena Thakur; Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Akash Deep and Rishabh Koushal

The meeting held detailed deliberations regarding the effective and smooth conduct of the Special Lok Adalat.
Emphasis was laid on identifying and facilitating the amicable settlement of pending cheque bounce cases to ensure speedy and efficient justice delivery.

The judicial officers discussed necessary arrangements, coordination mechanisms and strategies to maximize disposal of eligible cases through consensus and mutual settlement.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of encouraging litigants to take advantage of the Lok Adalat mechanism for expeditious and cost-effective resolution of disputes.

The Secretary DLSA reiterated the commitment of the Legal Services Authority towards strengthening alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and ensuring access to justice for all.
