JAMMU, JUNE 18: As part of the 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a plantation drive titled “Ek Ped, Nashe Ke Virudh” was organised at Government Degree College (GDC) Marh by Dr Imtiaz Shahid, Department of Zoology in collaboration with the College Well-being and Anti-Substance Cell, under the guidance of Principal GDC Marh Prof Ramneek Kaur.

The programme aimed to promote environmental conservation while spreading awareness about a drug-free lifestyle. Faculty members participated in the drive and encouraged students to contribute towards a greener environment.

Addressing the gathering, Prof Ramneek Kaur highlighted that plantation drives enhance ecological balance and instill a sense of responsibility among the youth and that a healthy environment and a healthy society go hand in hand.

The programme concluded with a pledge by staff members to protect the planted saplings and continue supporting environmental conservation and drug-free initiatives.

Among those present were Dr Madhvi Parasher, Dr Ram Dayal, Dr Rahul Sharma, Dr Ashu Jolly, Sachin Kumar, Ravi Kumar and Dr Shakun, who planted saplings and motivated students to become responsible citizens.
