District Admin Bandipora strengthens Anti-Drug Drive through ‘Dosti Discussion’

BANDIPORA, JULY 03: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Bandipora on Friday organised a series of “Dosti Discussion” programmes across educational institutions to raise awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to lead healthy and responsible lives.

The programmes were conducted in accordance with the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Nadihal, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Dawar, Government Higher Secondary School Naidkhai, Government Higher Secondary School Quilmuqam and Government Higher Secondary School Nowgam, with officers interacting with students.

At Government Boys Higher Secondary School Nadihal, District Information Officer, Aadil Manzoor Wani, administered the anti-drug pledge and urged students to make informed choices, stay focused on education, develop their skills and actively support the campaign against substance abuse.

At Government Higher Secondary School Quilmuqam, Principal, HKM GDC Bandipora, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, Faculty members highlighted the importance of a drug-free society, the role of family and friendship in preventing substance abuse and motivated students to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyles through an interactive discussion.

At Government Higher Secondary School Nowgam, the Functional Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Bandipora, interacted with students and stressed the importance of discipline, awareness and collective responsibility in building a drug-free society.

At Government Higher Secondary School Naidkhai, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Mohammad Rafiq Mir, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and sensitised students about the harmful consequences of drug abuse. He urged them to remain committed to education, uphold moral values, make informed life choices and contribute actively towards building a drug-free society.

Similar awareness programme was also held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Dawar where the officers sensitised students about the ill effects of drug abuse and encouraged them to become ambassadors of the anti-drug movement in their schools and communities.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and school authorities, reaffirming the District Administration Bandipora’s commitment to building a drug-free, healthy and progressive society through sustained youth engagement under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.
