SHOPIAN, JULY 06: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today chaired a comprehensive review meeting here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian to assess the progress of projects being executed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI), PMGSY and other developmental sectors in the district.
The DDC reviewed the status of ongoing projects, to address bottlenecks in implementation and directed for ensuring timely completion of works for the benefit of the people of the district.
The meeting aimed to strengthen inter-depatmental coordination and to accelerate the pace of infrastructure development in the district.
During the meeting, the DDC reviewed the status of PMGSY road projects and took stock of issues related to obtaining forest clearances. It was informed that forest clearance cases pertaining to three PMGSY road projects are under process, while work on 15 PMGSY road projects under SASCI are presently underway in the district.
The meeting was further informed that R&B Division Shopian, has undertaken seven road projects under SASCI, of which five have already been completed while the remaining works on two projects are progressing steadily.
The DDC also reviewed the status of projects being executed by departments, including Health, KPDCL, Horticulture Planning & Marketing and other sectors.
Emphasising the need for timely execution of developmental works, the DDC exhorted all executing agencies to expedite the pace of work, resolve bottlenecks in a coordinated manner and ensure completion of all projects within stipulated timelines so that the benefits of development reach the people at the earliest.
SE, R&B, CPO, Executive Engineer PMGSY, Executive Engineer R&B, DFO and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
