KULGAM, JULY 10: 5th District Coordination Committee meeting of various stakeholders for strengthening of judicial infrastructure and justice delivery system was held at district Kulgam.
The meeting was Chaired by Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kulgam (Chairman Coordination Committee), Aijaz Ahmed Khan. The meeting was coordinated by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kulgam who is Secretary to Coordination Committee. The other stakeholders who attended the meeting include Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Chief Planning officer Kulgam, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Kulgam, Executive Engineer R&B Kulgam, Tehsildar Kulgam, Executive Engineer KPDCL Division Kulgam and Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kulgam.
During the meeting, the point wise agendas were discussed threadbare and discussion held on various issues pertaining to infrastructure deficiencies in existing court complex at Kulgam, which includes repair of chamber of Principal District & Sessions, Judge Kulgam, electrification of court room, E-Court and chamber of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Kulgam, residential quarters of judicial officers of District kulgam, black topping of area meant for parking adjacent to NIA court Kulgam, security arrangement at newly allotted residential quarters at Lirrow, Kulgam, furniture/matting etc. at newly allotted residential quarters, parking of vehicles inside/outside the existing court complex, hassle free supply of drinking water, essential power & water supply line to new court complex, installation of ATM machine in court premises, provision of digital facilities sanitation, and barrier-free access in the court complexes.
The Chairman observed that robust judicial infrastructure is imperative for ensuring speedy, efficient and citizen-centric delivery of justice.
The concerned departments were directed to expedite all ongoing works, remove bottlenecks, and ensure completion of pending projects within the stipulated timelines. Issues relating to maintenance of court buildings, installation of CCTV cameras, internet connectivity, and separate waiting areas for litigants, advocates and witnesses, and accessibility for persons with disabilities were also deliberated upon. The representatives of the concerned departments assured full cooperation and committed to extend all requisite support for strengthening judicial infrastructure in the district.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to regularly monitor and review the progress of the decisions taken to ensure effective justice delivery in District Kulgam.
The chairman extended gratitude to all the participants and the meeting was concluded with the hope that the commitments made by the stakeholders in the meeting will get implemented in letter and spirit on ground and review thereof shall be taken in the next coordination meeting.
