ANANTNAG, AUGUST 07: As prelude to the Independence Day-2026 celebrations, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, today chaired a comprehensive meeting at Dak Bunglalow Khanabal to review the action plan and arrangements for the upcoming Har Ghar Tiranga campaign 2026 in the district.
The meeting was attended ADC, GM DIC, SEs Jal Shakti, PDD and PWD alongwith Exens, PO ICDS, Principal GDC, CPO, ACR, ACD, SDMs, DFOs, DSEO, CMO, CAHO, CAO, CEO, DSHO, CHO, AD FCS&CA, DSWO, ARTO, DMO, DRC, Tehsildars, AD Handloom/Handicrafts, DYSSO, DySP Traffic, DFO, AD Fisheries, DIO NIC, EOs of MCs, Heads of Educational Institutions and other concerned officials.
At the outset, the Chief Planning Officer briefed the chair about the schedule of activities and events that have been planned under the campaign. He informed that the campaign will span from 09th to 17th August, 2026 during which a range of programs such as flag hoisting and pledge ceremonies, Mega Tiranga Rallies, community sanitation drives, essay writing and painting competitions, cultural, art and creative engagements besides community based drives shall be organised.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the campaign aims to instill a deep sense of patriotism and national unity among the citizens. He called for active involvement of government officials, students, civil society members, volunteers, youth clubs, NSS/NCC Cadets, SHGs and other organisations to make the campaign vibrant and inclusive across the district.
Dr. Bilal instructed all departments to actively coordinate for the smooth execution of planned activities and ensure community involvement at district, subdivision, tehsil and panchayat levels. He stressed to create a festive and patriotic atmosphere through various thematic and unique initiatives scheduled under the campaign.
Dr. Bilal further directed the concerned departments to integrate activities such cleanliness of public offices and assets which shall be followed by flag hoisting ceremonies at offices, prominent public places and other key locations.
Concluding the meeting, the DC expressed confidence that all departments will make dedicated efforts to conduct the scheduled activities in a smooth and seamless manner across the district.
