SHOPIAN, AUGUST 20: The Inter-District Divisional Level Table Tennis Championship for boys and girls was inaugurated today at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Shopian.
The championship was formally inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. His presence added significance to the occasion and served as an encouragement to the young athletes participating in the championship.
Addressing the gathering, ADDC Shopian appreciated the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports for promoting sports and providing young boys and girls with opportunities to excel in various sporting disciplines. He urged the participating players to compete with dedication, discipline and true sportsmanship.
Earlier, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Shopian, welcomed the participants from different districts and highlighted the importance of sports and games in the overall development of young people.
A total of 41 Under-14 boys from nine districts of Kashmir Division are participating in the championship with great enthusiasm and zeal, accompanied by their respective escort teachers.
The event aims to provide young players with a platform to showcase their talent, enhance their competitive skills and foster a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among participants from different districts.
