UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 20: The Municipal Council, Udhampur, today organized a plog run in and around Udhampur town to promote cleanliness and raise awareness about keeping public spaces litter-free. School students, teachers, Municipal Council staff, civil society members and local residents took part in the initiative.
The Member of Legislative Assembly, Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta, flagged off the plog run in the presence of the Additional District Development Commissioner, Jugal Kishore and the Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Udhampur, Saddam Hussain.
The participants collected litter along the route, raised slogans on cleanliness and carried placards with messages on environmental protection and responsible waste management.
Addressing the participants, the MLA appreciated the active participation of the students and other stakeholders. He said cleanliness is a collective responsibility and stressed the importance of public participation in making Udhampur cleaner, healthier and more sustainable.
