KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam today visited the Veterinary Campus, Kulgam, and Municipal Council (MC) building at Ardpora to review the measures required for humane and scientific management of the stray dog population in the district.
The DC was accompanied by the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO), Kulgam; Livestock Development Officer (LDO), Kulgam; Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kulgam; and Veterinary Assistant Surgeons (VASs).
During the visit, the DC issued on-the-spot directions for initiating the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Programme in the district. On the occasion, CAHO Kulgam and Executive Officer, MC Kulgam apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the infrastructure, manpower, equipment, logistical arrangements and other requirements for undertaking ABC activities in accordance with the applicable guidelines and regulations.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure necessary arrangements and coordinated efforts for effective implementation of the programme.
