JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 26: A Special Lok Adalat on MACT cases was organized today at District Court Complex, Jammu by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jammu under the able guidance of Sh. Tahir Khurshid Raina, Principal District & Sessions Judge / Chairman, DLSA Jammu and under the supervision of Ms. Maleeka Sharma, Civil Judge (Senior Division) / Secretary, DLSA.
For the Lok Adalat, 02 Benches were constituted. The First Bench comprised Sh. Khem Raj, Presiding Officer, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Jammu and Sh. Gurdeep Singh Gill, Panel Lawyer, DLSA Jammu, while the Second Bench consisted of Ms. Rajni Sharma, Presiding Officer, Additional Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption Cases, Jammu (MACT Cases) and Ms. Deepali Arora, Panel Lawyer, DLSA Jammu.
In the Special Lok Adalat, a total of 20 MACT cases were taken up and 12 cases were disposed of amicably with the mutual consent of the parties. A total compensation amount of Rs. 37,65,000/- (Rupees Thirty Seven Lakhs Sixty Five Thousand only) was awarded to the claimants.
