GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 08: The District Administration Ganderbal today organised a district level programme at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Ganderbal, in connection with the National Launch of JOSH Teams (Joint Squad for Health Teams) and felicitation of TB Free Panchayats.
The programme was held simultaneously with the national level launch at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, inaugurated by the Minister for Health & Family Welfare, in collaboration with the Ministries of Labour & Employment, Youth Affairs & Sports and Defence.
At the district level event, field functionaries associated with the TB Mukt Bharat Programme and officials of the Health Department participated in the national launch through virtual mode. The programme focused on strengthening community participation and coordinated efforts towards achieving the goal of a TB free society.
On the occasion, TB Free Panchayats were felicitated in recognition of their achievement and contribution towards TB elimination efforts. The felicitation acknowledged the collective efforts of Panchayati Raj Institutions, health functionaries and community stakeholders in strengthening TB detection, treatment, awareness and prevention at the grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, highlighted the importance of collective efforts and active community participation in achieving the goal of a TB free society. He stressed upon all stakeholders to strengthen awareness, early identification, timely treatment and follow-up of TB cases and called for sustained efforts towards making Ganderbal TB free.
As part of the programme, a TB Mukt Bharat pledge was also administered to the participants, who pledged to contribute towards TB elimination and support efforts aimed at creating greater awareness about prevention, early detection and treatment of tuberculosis.
The programme also witnessed participation of volunteers associated with MY Bharat, reflecting the importance of community and youth participation in the TB elimination campaign.
The programme was attended by health officials and field functionaries, MY Bharat volunteers and other concerned stakeholders, besides officials of the District Administration.
